November President’s Message
November President’s Message
Halloween has come and gone and the shorter, cooler days are moving us back indoors. It was an enjoyable summer for those groups who were able to meet outdoors and we applaud our leaders for being creative. The Golf and Pickleball groups had record turnouts thanks to efforts of their leaders. The Happy Strummers, Art Group, Ping Pong, Walking Group and others met all through the summer but now we are able to cautiously move back indoors. It was wonderful to see some of your smiling faces back at the Centre last week with Barb Waldner leading the first Tuesday Morning Social in seven months. While we are proceeding cautiously with the gradual opening of the Centre following the Public Health Guidelines, some of our groups are continuing to meet electronically via Zoom and some are meeting both in person at the Centre and via Zoom.
The Board has continued to meet monthly to conduct the business of the Association. Our Communications team will be producing a monthly Update Letter replacing the weekly/biweekly Update Letters distributed over the past few months. The monthly Update Letter will Include a Board Report prepared by our Board Secretary, Sue Jergens.
I want to acknowledge and thank the dedicated volunteers that keep us in touch and have enabled us to reopen and to operate going forward. A special mention to Andrea Lindsay, Office Coordinator, for her dedication to keeping the administrative functions running smoothly.
Take care and stay healthy,
Stew Arnold
