On June 7th the inaugural Cordova Bay Community Leadership Awards were handed out at a special ceremony at the Beach House Restaurant.  Our own Rich McMorran was named Volunteer of the Year; Sheila Wells the Employee of the Year; Brian Royer-Collard the Coach/Mentor of the Year; and our wonderful CB55+ Association picked up the Community Group Award.  Rich accepted his award and did so on behalf of all the people who have helped build CB55+ over the years, and in particular the “Fab 5”, who started the whole thing!

The leadership awards are the result of a partnership between the Saanich News, Cordova Bay Association for Community Affairs, Tru Value Foods, the Beach House Restaurant and other area businesses.

The evening was wonderful and was enjoyed by all who attended.

– Technology and Again
Attendees could also have their hearing and blood pressure checked.  Most people that attended learned informative information from the courses – especially the course “Keeping Your Driver’s License”.
Many new members, as well as “old” members, assisted with the seminar and with serving lunch.
