Chinese New Year Celebration

Gung Hay Fat Choy!  At our Tuesday Drop-In on January 10th, 2012 about one hundred members celebrated the Chinese New Year a few weeks ahead of time.  We enjoyed a riveting presentation by Elsie Chan (University of Victoria Speakers Bureau) of slides and commentary about her trip along the Silk Road – punctuated by lots of humour. This was followed by a delicious Chinese lunch with goodies made by our hostess, Val Baba.  Thanks Val for orchestrating another great Chinese New Year celebration for our members – obviously well received.

Winter Activities

If you are not fortunate enough to be a snowbird, you might like to beat the winter blues by participating in one of the many activities offered to members of CB55+ over the next few months.  You can take advantage of the wide variety of courses and groups that are currently running at CB Place.  To sign up for courses contact the office or Brenda Hurd <brendahurd@telus.net>.  For groups sign up in one of the designated folders in the lounge area.  If you are interested in something not offered, there is a folder in the rack for Suggested Courses and Groups.
