SUMMER ANNUAL HAPPENINGS

Our Strawberries and Waffles brunch/lunch was another great event.  On July 11th our members enjoyed delicious waffles topped with assorted berries and whipped cream.  Great food and lots of good company.  Thanks to all the “ladies of the kitchen” – without our volunteers we wouldn’t be able to have these great “get together’s”.

WOW!!!!  Thank You Men.   Another wonderful and tasty BBQ and a great “catch-up” for our friends and neighbours that we haven’t seen over the summer.

Definitely looking forward to Strawberries and Waffles and our annual BBQ in 2018!!!!

CANADA DAY CELEBRATION — 2017

The Canada Day Celebration for 2017 was a big success.  Flags were flying and some members wore their native costumes.

Thank you Dorothy, Margaret and Raina, our trio of wonderful fiddlers, who entertained us with Canadian folk music and songs accompanied by Pat Robertson on the piano.  Thank you Gwen, for all your trivia questions about our great country, and Diane for your fantastic pictures.

The finale was a rousing singing of “O Canada”.  After the drop-in celebration we were all invited to have cake and coffee.  Thank you “ladies of the kitchen”, for all you do for us at CB55+!!!!

CB55+ ANNUAL POTLUCK LUNCHEON – June 20, 2017

Our 13th Annual Potluck Luncheon was held at Connie McKenzie’s on June 20th.  We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day after a few clouds and a bit of wind.  Tents were set up in the lovely garden for groups of friends and neighbours to enjoy a delicious lunch and great conversations.

Thank you Connie and all the many volunteers who helped make it possible for us to celebrate the coming of summer in such an enjoyable way.

What a wonderful display of “Red and White” to celebrate Canada’s 150th.  See You All Next Year!!!

LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS

We now have 3 new librarians — they are Julie Bell, Margaret Bell and Mary Torney. Thank you for helping to find these new volunteers.

WILLING HANDS

All the wonderful things that happen at CB55+ don’t just “happen.” They are carried out by volunteers.  Thanks to all the  volunteers who have helped with the success of the events throughout the year.

We are now needing volunteers to help with the Library.  Please check under “Volunteers — Library” to see if you would like to help with this.
